NEWARK, Ohio, June 6, 2017 – There is a new section in The Ohio State University at Newark/Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) campus bookstore. It's a section where the names of the authors should be really familiar.
"About a year and a half ago, faculty and administrators suggested that we could have a faculty book section," said Bookstore Manager Chris Gasser. "I thought that was a great idea."
Gasser started working with faculty and library staff to get a list of the books published by current Ohio State Newark and COTC faculty members. Once he had the list, Gasser ordered the books and brought the section to life.
"To me, it's incredible that we have such a diverse group of faculty who are at this level of professionalism and have written these books," said Gasser. "I would be missing something if we didn't celebrate that on our campus."
Gasser said the faculty book section is a work in progress. If a faculty member has written a book that is currently not available at the bookstore, he wants to know about it.
"As we do find out there are other books or new books, we are going to order them and bring them on to our campus," said Gasser.
