WDIC Launches New Logo and Slogan

As the demand for a highly-skilled, technically-trained workforce grows in central Ohio, the role of the Workforce Development Innovation Center (WDIC) at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is becoming more important to economic development. With that growing and changing role, it was the right time to update the WDIC logo and slogan to reflect a new, more progressive and proactive direction.

The Workforce Development Innovation Center develops training programs & courses that provide innovative solutions to specific challenges within business and industry; helping their workforce to develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities they need to succeed. Customized contract training ranges from technical skill enhancement and safety certifications, to soft skills development and preparation for professional designation exams.

"One of the programs I am most proud of is a leadership development series we designed in response to industry needs for team members being promoted or those with recognized leadership potential," said WDIC Director Vicki Maple. "We customize this program to fit the culture and nature of each industry partner, as we recognize the importance of new supervisors and managers learning, embracing, and utilizing leadership skills that are different from the technical skills used to become successful on the front line or production line."

With a strong, responsive approach to business, the new WDIC logo is bold and sleek, showcasing the professionalism and efficiency needed for companies to succeed in business. The "I" in the WDIC acronym was designed to look like an award of merit, emphasizing the recognizable growth in an individual who learns new skills to advance in their career and ultimately help their company to reach its goals.

"The first time I saw this logo, I thoroughly embraced it," said Maple. "It represents exactly what the WDIC is all about, helping companies and individuals grow and succeed."

The new slogan for the WDIC is "Strategic Solutions for Workforce Performance." New advertising will be displayed featuring the new logo and slogan in the WDIC's three-county service area.

"We are committed to meeting the workforce development needs of business and industry in Licking, Coshocton and Knox Counties," said Maple. "We want to use the resources we have available through COTC to grow business opportunities in the region, ultimately bringing growth and prosperity to the region."
