SafeLand Training Offered at COTC in July

July 15, 2015—Newark, OH— A SafeLand Basic Safety Awareness Course is being offered through the Workforce Development Innovation Center of COTC on July 20 and 21, 2015 at the Pataskala campus. Although the course is essential for any Oil & Gas or Petro-chem employee, it is open to participants from a variety of industries, as well as businesses wishing to send multiple participants. The two-day course will provide a general understanding of life and safety issues in the field, along with a complimentary OSHA introduction and overview for those new to the industry.

“Oil & Gas employees need to be aware of all safety precautions required for the job,” says Vicki Maple, WDIC manager at COTC. “Every worker needs to have a comprehensive understanding of job safety prior to entering the job facility. The SafeLand course is vital in helping employees play a more active role in job safety and reducing the number of preventable accidents.” Over 25 of the leading oil and gas operators accept this orientation as it meets their standards, and for employees performing exploration, production, drilling and/or refining work, the course is a requirement.
