The recent death of Danville Police Officer Thomas Cottrell, a 2002 COTC Basic Police Academy graduate, was a startling reminder that law enforcement careers can be dangerous. Cottrell was killed in the line of duty while working in a small town in Knox County. If it can happen in Danville, it can happen anywhere. A panel of seven COTC alumni will be talking about the risks and rewards of a career serving others in law enforcement. The program will include time for students to ask questions.
