Central Ohio Technical College Hosts Senior Expo

NEWARK, Ohio, June 3, 2015 - Central Ohio Technical College hosted the Second Annual Licking County Senior Expo in partnership with the Licking County Task Force on Aging, which is a collaboration of individuals representing organizations, industry, and the private sector who serve and/or are interested in the well-being of senior citizens in the Licking County area. The event was held at the John Gilbert Reese Center.

The focus of the event was to express interest in the senior citizen population and to inform them of the products, resources, and services available in their immediate community. The event itself had a turnout of nearly 30 vendors with over 100 guests in attendance.

"Co-hosting the Senior Expo was a natural fit for the Lifelong Learning Institute whose philosophy is 'Never stop learning because life never stops teaching,'" explained Vicki Maple, Workforce Development Innovation Center (WDIC) & Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) Manager.

"The Lifelong Learning Institute offers stimulating educational opportunities, as well as the occasion for the intellectually curious to interact socially with other lifelong learners," she continued.
