COTC’s Knox Campus Named Goodwill’s Customer of the Year

NEWARK, Ohio, April 9, 2015 — The Knox campus of Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) was named the Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries, Inc. Customer of the Year at its Awards of Excellence event on March 25, 2015. The award was voted on by staff of Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries.


COTC was recognized for supporting the mission of Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries “to provide training, employment, and support services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.” COTC contracts employees at Ariel Hall through Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries in two departments, custodial and action security group. In addition, COTC was applauded for providing additional opportunities to people with disabilities through increases in staffing hours and scope of work.


COTC has provided associate degrees, certificates and technical training to Knox County residents since 1980. Ariel Hall, located at 236 South Main Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, was renovated and dedicated in March 2012 and was the first COTC building to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Nearly 300 students were enrolled in autumn semester 2014.
