Book Signing to be held during Charity Basketball Game

NEWARK, Ohio, February 27, 2017 Author and diehard basketball fan, Chris Parker picks up the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2016 Championship tale with the 2015 Finals loss to Golden State on their home floor in his book King James Brings The Land a Crown. It chronicles the team's victorious journey back to that summit to which this generation's greatest sports icon, Lebron James, returned for his storybook ending against a Warriors team that finished with an NBA record 73 wins, and took a 3-1 lead in the Finals.

2-27-17KingJames_BookSigning_lr.jpgParker will be on the Newark campus for a book signing during the Staff vs Students Charity Basketball Game this coming Tuesday, March 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event which benefits Operation Feed is being held in the Adena Hall Gymnasium located at 1159 University Drive. The event is open to the public and a $1 or canned food donation for entry is requested.

Parker was in the locker room and at the games, following the team for two years to capture the feel of their historic title run as it wound from autumn to summer, especially in the rejuvenated hearts of the region's fans. King James Brings The Land a Crown features a thorough pastiche of play-by-play vignettes, coach and player quotes, strategic basketball analysis and deeper insight into how the Cavaliers overcame their inconsistency to stage the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history.
