Strategic Planning
The office is responsible for facilitating and supporting the strategic planning process of the college as well as housing and updating the Key Performance Indicators of the college. The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness works closely with the Vice President for Institutional Planning and Human Resources in the strategic planning process.
Accreditation is a voluntary process whereby assessment and evaluation is performed by external organizations to assure quality and ongoing improvement within higher education. Central Ohio Technical College participates in both types of accreditation, institutional and programmatic.
InstitutionalCentral Ohio Technical College is fully accredited at the institutional level by the Higher Learning Commission. (Address: 230 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604-1411 ; Phone: 312-263-0456; Fax: 312-263-7462). The process is cyclical with the last reaffirmation of accreditation occurring in 2018-2019.

Completion Plan
The 2018-2020 Completion Plan builds upon previously determined strategies and focus areas initiated in the 2014-2016 Completion Plan. The plan is designed to increase the number of degrees and certificates awarded to students and focus on ways to assist students to attain the degree or certificate. This plan is consistent with the mission and strategic priorities of COTC.

Program Review
The office plays a critical role in supplying data to departments and programs for the program review process. The office also houses a copy of all program reviews for college accreditation purposes.
