Autumn - The Ohio State University Newark established, classes were held at the old Newark High School on West Main Street


October 27 - Founders Hall groundbreaking ceremony


October - Founders Hall opens


February 19 - OBR charters Central Ohio Technical College 
June 25 - COTC begins accepting applications for fall quarter
July 19 - First operating budget approved by the Board
July 29 - Dr. Robert Barnes appointed Director of COTC
September 17 - OBR approves six programs for autumn quarter: Electronic Engineering Technology, Secretarial Science, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Accounting, X-ray Technology and Glass Plastics Technology.  
September 30 - COTC opened its doors to students for the first time


September - Nursing program begins


June 8 - First graduating ceremony


North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) grants COTC full accreditation with a three-year follow up visit required
Spring - Construction begins on Hopewell Hall


September - Grand opening of Hopewell Hall


February - Work begins on Adena Hall
September 20 - First classes offered in Mount Vernon, Coshocton and at the Ohio Fire Academy in Reynoldsburg


NCA grants a 10-year accreditation 
Autumn - Grand opening of Adena Hall
September 20 - Child Care Center opens in Adena Hall


May 16 - OBR expands the COTC service area to include Knox and Coshocton counties
July 1 - Dr. Julius Greenstein appointed President of COTC


May - Construction begins on Hopewell Hall addition


January - Hopewell Hall addition opens


NCA grants COTC a 10-year accreditation
September - New Child Care Center facility opens on the Newark campus


Spring - Hall House purchased by the Thomas J. Evans Foundation and became the official presidential residence in 2004. 
May 21 - COTC faculty voted to form a collective bargaining unit


September 27 - Groundbreaking for LeFevre Hall


April 4 - Grand Opening of LeFevre Hall


July 1 - Dr. Rafael Cortada appointed President of COTC
December 14 - Everett D. Reese Carillon dedicated


NCA grants a 10-year accreditation


July 1 - Dr. Anne Federlein appointed President of COTC


April 16 - The Reese Center groundbreaking ceremony


January 6 - COTC officially opens its facility in Coshocton on Kenwood Avenue 
October 14 - Grand opening of the John Gilbert Reese Center


July 1 - Dr. Bonnie L. Coe appointed President of COTC


September 20 - Classes begin in Pataskala
October 12 - Groundbreaking for The Warner Center


Coshocton Campus Capital Campaign concludes with just over $5 million
July 18 - COTC Board of Trustees accept donation of former theatre building in Mount Vernon
September 20 - Doors open to the Pataskala Campus in the Pataskala City Administration Building


February 15 - Construction begins on Montgomery Hall in Coshocton


NCA Grants 10-year accreditation
January 10 - Montgomery Hall opens in Coshocton
October 3 - Grand opening of The John L. and Christine Warner Library and Student Center
December - Knox Campus Capital Campaign concludes with $5.3 million raised


January - COTC launches strategic plan 2009 - 2013
August - COTC introduces its first international experience – Italian/American Exchange program with the first exchange to Reggello, Italy to happen in summer 2010


June 21 - Classes begin at the former Grand Host East facility – the name officially changes to the Pataskala Campus 
November 8 - The Gateway opens in Hopewell Hall


Summer - Remodel of Ariel Hall​


March - Ariel Hall grand opening celebration in Mount Vernon
June 30 - Next Generation Challenge, scholarship campaign exceeds $20 million goal.​

​​February 24 - Facilities Operations Building groundbreaking

​​​January - Facilities Operations Building opens
Adena Hall renovation and conversion to rec center begins
New residence hall​​ groundbreaking 9/1/16

January 9 - Adena Hall Recreation Center opens
April 7 - The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approves honorific naming of new residence hall as Jane C. and William T. McConnell Hall.
Autumn semester - McConnell Hall opens.​
