This webpage will provide you with many resource to assist in becoming a student at COTC. We know navigating orientation, scheduling, financial aid, and even getting your books can be stressful at times, but we are here to help.​ 

Things to do before orientation and class scheduling:

  • Schedule placement assessment (if needed):
    • Call The Gateway at your local COTC campus to speak with a Gateway Staff Member to determine if you will be required to take a placement exam before scheduling classes at COTC
  • ​Schedule Orientation:
    • ​Call your local COTC Campus to schedule your orientation.

​Orientation Dates for each campus:

​​Students must sign-up in advance for orientation. Contact your local campus to sign-up.

Academic Advising

During orientation, you will meet your advisors as they help you schedule your classes at COTC. Your advisors will be your ultimate resource to the success here at COTC. Gateway Advisors, with the help of other Gateway staff, staff members from other departments, and faculty college wide, play a critical role in the recruitment and development of our student population.  This page contains pertinent information to the roles a Gateway Advisor plays, responsibilities they take on, and tools available to help guide you through college processes.

Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid​ is here to assist students and families through the financial aid process. In most cases, the student will be eligible for some type of federal financial aid regardless of income.  Our staff looks forward to assisting you in financing your education. We welcome your comments and suggestions and encourage you to contact us with any questions.​

Student ID & Parking Pass

All students receive a free COTC ID and parking pass through the Office of Public Safety​. Students will need to bring a photo ID in order to receive their ID. Student will be eligible for their ID and parking pass once they have registered for classes at COTC.​
